What I have learned over this process

After everything I have learned and everything I have done, I feel like I have had so much knowledge I could soak up. I learned about films in a way I never thought of before. I was put in the directors seat and learned the struggles and specific challenges they have. Through partnership struggles to sound issues when I put the film altogether and not being able to fix it, I have tried my best and learned a lot. I learned about how careful you have to be when picking who you work with and make dues they match your effort level.  I have learned about editing films and adding music or special sound effects. The different angles and the reason why directors choose such specific angles and colors for the wardrobe. I learned that everything in a film is on purpose, everything has a meaning. I am so grateful for the journey I got to take. I had a blast.

Costume Designs

This is one of the main characters, she is the best friend, she is coming from her own plans and own world, so she kinda has a lot going on with her outfits.   This is the back of the other main character, I wanted her to look like she is relaxed, this film starts with her being in the house alone, so that is how she is dressed alone, not like she is trying to impress anyone. She looks comfortable.

Filming Equipment

This is the camera that was used to film our film opening, this is Katie’s camera and though I am not sure which model it is it was a professional camera. At the start of filming the camera had an issue, at first the camera had to be plugged in to work. This posed as an issue because our opening shot was outside, as where other scenes we wanted. One way we adapted was we first shot the inside scenes, to allow the camera to charge. After we filmed, Katie uploaded all the footage and edited the movie together.

Filming Location

We decided the best place to film was at my house. This meant we had easy access to the place and we could film whenever our schedules aligned. It was also easy, because I had all the ideas, so I knew how my house could be useful to this film.  The film is actually based on my house, when I moved in 2 years ago I had this irrational fear that someone was hiding in the bush that faces my door. It had so much greenery around it that someone could easily hide if they wanted to. I told this to Katie and this is where the movie came about. So the house was perfect.

Behind the scenes

This picture was taken to showcase the behind the scenes, in this shot it took multiple attempts to get right as we were laughing a lot . After all the filming we had so many bloopers, that goes to show that we can still have fun while doing the work. We tried a lot of different angles for each shot and different ways of presenting each line to try and make the best possible film opening , however we had to choose the best blended shot, so you couldn’t tell how much it was edited.
